“This is the most important win so far”, said Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the home win against Panathinaikos. “It’s more important than the ones against CSKA and Barcelona because the next game is always more difficult. We managed to erase the difference from the first game, I want to congratulate my players for their performance, it wasn’t an easy game, Panathinaikos played for their last chance to stay in the top 8 for us it was important to be mentally ready and to take the pressure down and I think that for this reason we didn’t perform as we can, the most important thing, we had some great moments, moments that we were not good but at the end of the day we controlled the game”.
“We played together”, said Tarik Black. “We played our style of basketball and fought through it. It’s been a good ride, we pray it continues for as long as possible we wanna get as many wins as possible, we’ve turned this thing around, it started off really slow obviously but our percentages since we started getting wins has been really high and I don’t know if it’s been recognized as much. Tough schedule, tough games and we have to go fight for them all, obviously in the position that we’re in and that’s what we’re gonna do”.
“It felt great”, said Jake Cohen. “It always feels good when the ball goes in, had a couple of open looks got great passes from my teammates and shots went in. Every time we needed a basket Angelo got it for us just by pure heart, he got us stops on the defensive end he deserves everything you can say about him tonight. I’m really happy with how we played tonight and now we’re just gonna focus on getting better for our next game”.
