Maccabi’s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the home win versus Darussafaka: “we controlled the game with our great defense”. John DiBartolomeo: “It was a good win for us”
Maccabi are now with an 11:13 record in the EuroLeague standings and will now start to prepare for their hectic week with the first game being on Saturday.
“I want to congratulate our players for the emphatic win”, said Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos. “We controlled the game with our great defense, we allowed our opponents to score 23 points in the first half and a total of 58 in . I think that with our good defense from the beginning till the end we built up a point difference that gave us an easy win in the end”.
“We played well today”, said DeAndre Kane. “We really came out aggressive on defense and it helped us get into the rhythm on offense, everybody contributed, guys had a great game, we also had a good week of practice and it all carried over to the game, it was a good win for us”.
“We established a good rhythm early”, said John DiBartolomeo who also added: “We were able to keep it for most of the game and come out with the very important win. We’re taking it a game at a time and although last week was a loss there were some good things in the game and we were able to take those and build on, against Milan we weren’t as good defensively as were tonight and I think that played a key difference”.
