Maccabi’s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the 93:70 home win over Ashdod: “We deserved to win. Jake Cohen: “Coach believed in me and I’m happy for it”
“There were parts in the game where we lost our focus”, said coach Sfairopoulos. “I think that in general we controlled the game. Ashdod knows how to get you out of the rhythm, they have an excellent rebound and offensive game and we wanted to keep them on low score. We succeeded to do that with good defense and we deserved to win, besides a few moments that we lost focus I think we were better”.
When asked about Jake Cohen, coach replied: “I’m happy for him especially because he was focused and driven, Jake was everywhere on the court, he has qualities like every one of our players, anyone on the tam can step up in the game and he did it today”.
“We had a few down moments during the game”, said Jake Cohen who scored 20P. “We tried to get those moments out so that we can progress. Coach believed in me and I’m happy for it. I got a lot of minutes and he asked me to keep shooting. We need to stay aggressive and to get into the playoffs in the right momentum and in the right rhythm”.
