The Yellows’ sporting director revealed in an emotional press conference that he will say goodbye to Maccabi after 16 years: “My heart is yellow, I’m sure I’ll be back in the future”
“Last year, my daughter left Israel to study in England, and my son left with my wife and joined my basketball academy in Croatia”, shared Vujcic. “My heart is yellow, but being alone without my family next to me was too much for me. Emotionally and mentally. This is why I decided that at the end of this season, I will take a break and not continue with Maccabi.”

“I decided to share this now and not keep it a secret until the end of the season because I feel I have an obligation to be open and honest with Maccabi’s owners, the media, and most importantly the fans – which deserve this kind of transparency.”
“We still have a whole season in front of us, and I will give all of my heart and soul for Maccabi until the last game”, added Vujcic, who is considered one of the best centers that ever played for the Yellows. “I will never forget the 16 years I had with the club. It was an unbelievable time, a rollercoaster of emotions. I’m sure I’ll be back in the future”.
