Jaylen Hoard joined Maccabi last summer after two years with the city rival. In his EuroLeague debut season, he averaged 14.7 points (61.6% on two-pointers), 5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 30 minutes per game (17.5 performance index rating). In the Israeli League, he posted 12.6 points (66.4% from two, 41.7% from three), 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals during the regular season.
Hoard repeatedly proved himself as a superb defender against any position, an impressive athlete, a player who rises to challenges, and a great locker room presence. With Maccabi, he won the Winner Cup and the State Cup and helped lead the team to first place in the league and all the way to the championship series, which was canceled before completion.
