Shane Hunter signed, will be loaned this upcoming season

The 24-year-old forward-center (2.08m), who starred last season for the Swedish champions, joins Maccabi on a three-year contract

Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv has signed forward-center Shane Hunter (2.08m, 24 years old) to a three-year deal, with Hunter set to be loaned out for the upcoming season.

Last summer, Hunter signed his first professional contract with Norrk?ping Dolphins, the Swedish league champions, and played a key role in leading them to a fifth consecutive title. He’s a big man with great off-ball movement, high two-point shooting percentages, a solid rebounder, very mobile in the pick-and-roll, and an effective shot blocker.

In 30 regular season games last season, he averaged 14.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 26.4 minutes per game. In the Champions League qualifiers and FIBA Europe Cup, he averaged 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In the finals series, he put up 16.4 points per game.

Hunter was born on June 27, 2001, grew up in New York, and played college basketball at Nova Southeastern University.
