The former player joins the staff of Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv: “I Look forward to the challenge”
“I’m very excited to welcome Cory to our Maccabi family”, GM Claudio Coldebella told Maccabi.co.il. “The role of a Player Development Coach is crucial within a basketball club. Helping our players improve is a fundamental part of our strategy and I’m confident that Cory, with all his experience both on and off the court, is the perfect person for this position”.

“It’s a great honor to join such a traditional historical club like Macabbi at this point in my coaching career”, Cory Carr said after joining the staff. “I have had many battles against the yellow and blue for years as a player and it’s a real treat to be a part of the club this upcoming season, heading the skills and development department . I Look forward to the challenge”.
Cory Carr was born on December 5, 1975, in Arkansas, USA. He played at Texas Tech University and was selected in the 1998 draft by Atlanta, from where he was traded to Chicago. Later, he played in the CBA, Mexico and France, before arriving in Israel at the start of the current millennium.
He began his Israeli basketball journey at Raanana, and later played for various teams including Galil Elyon, Hapoel Haifa, Givat Shmuel, Ashkelon, Nahariya, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa (championship in 2013), and Ness Ziona.
Even while still playing in the regional league, he started coaching youth, and in May 2018 was appointed head coach for the Herzliya women team. He worked at the academy at Wingate Institute, coached Maccabi Hadera as well as Hapoel Bnei Kfar Qassem and Hapoel Lev-Hof HaSharon.
Cory Carr married an Israeli, received citizenship in 2009, and his daughter, Tiara Levin, plays for Maccabi Hod HaSharon. He played 12 seasons in the Israeli Premier League and ranks 53rd on the all-time scoring list.
