Maccabi cruises against Eilat: 95:77

For the most part, it was a good display on both sides of the court, but it’s still very far from perfect. Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Eilat 95:77 on its home league premier behind 22 points by Andrew Goudelock and 20 from Sylven Landsberg.

Ahead of the highly anticipated match up against Real Madrid on Thursday, Coach Erez Edelstein managed to get one of his key players back. Sonny Weems returned from injury and managed to score 11 points in little over 13 minutes. Maccabi got off to a fast start and raced to a 42:21 lead but Eilat battled back and cut it down to 8 points at the end of the third quarter. But a well-timed barrage of three pointers led by Guy Pnini (5-6 from beyond the arc) made sure the game ended the right way.

“There are still a lot of ups and downs and that’s ok for this stage of the season”, said Edelstein, “we’ll have to be at our best on Thursday against a perfect team”. Pnini added: “we’re all looking forward to that game. We hope to see our fans show up and give us the support we need”.

It's very hard to play against Maccabi, they have an amazing team, one of the best in europe. You can loose focus even for one minute, but we will try to take the positive things from this game
