Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv took a 1-0 lead in the Israeli league quarter finals series on Tuesday with a commanding 109-83 triumph over Ness Ziona at home. Oded Kattash’s team was dominant from the jump, racing to a 11-2 lead and never looking back.

With John DiBartolomeo back in on the court, the reigning champios stayed hot with a second-straight 100-point game. The yellows led by as many as 35 points in the second half, with six different players scoring in double-figures.

Above all was Lorenzo Brown with 18 points and 7 assists in only 21 minutes. John-D came storming back from his injury with 15 points on 5-from-5 from deep. Jake Cohen was also noteworthy with 14 points.

Game 2 is Friday in Ness Ziona, before the series heads back to Yad Eliyahu on Sunday.
