Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv earned their ninth EuroLeague victory of the season on Tuesday, by dominating Baskonia inside for a 89:81 home win. In a game in which star guards Lorenzo Brown and Wade Baldwin combine for just 4-for-24 from the field, the yellows’ big men trio of Josh Nebo, James Webb and Roman Sorkin stepped up.

Nebo and Webb each scored 17 points in the contest, with the center completing a double-double with 11 rebounds and the forward collecting 8 boards of his own. In all, the Maccabees outrebounded their opponents 50-35, while limiting Baskonia’s star big man Chima Moneke to only 8 points.

It was Maccabi’s fourth win in their last five EuroLeague contest, and the first against Spanish rivals this season. On Thursday, Oded Kattash and his men will confront Crvena Zvezda to a derby of sorts, which also marks the first time former head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos faces his former team since his departure.
