Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv got back to winning ways in the EuroLeague with a dominant effort that led to a 85-73 scoreline over Crvena Zvezda at “home” in Belgrade. The yellows were focused on both sides of the court and enjoyed 12 made triples to secure their sixth victory in the competition this season.

It was the Serbs who jumped to and early 8-2 lead to start the game, but a 13-4 run by Maccabi gave them control of proceedings. The Israeli champs had a double-digit lead for most of the evening, with John DiBartolomeo providing arguably his best performance of the season, scoring all of his 15 points from beyond the arc.

Four more players scored in double figures for Oded Kattash, including 14 points by Tamir Blatt and a 11-point, 8-assist day by Rokas Jokubaitis. The Maccabees also held Crvena Zvezda, who were coming off of an impressive run lately, to only 40.6% from the field.

Maccabi will now head to Beer Sheva on Sunday to resume Israeli League play, while the yellows’ next challenge in the EuroLeague will be a home bout against ALBA Berlin.
