Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s winning streak came to an end on Saturday in Holon, but the busy schedule continues. On Wednesday (19:30 local, 12:30 pm ET), the Yellows will host Fenerbahce in the Euroleague’s regular season last round, in a game that will decide who their opponent will be in the playoffs.
If the Israeli champions win, they will face Real Madrid. A loss and Avi Even’s team will clash with Olimpia Milano. “I don’t buy this story of ‘a more comfortable opponent’,” Maccabi’s coach clarified, “I do not know if Real is better or worse than Milano at this point. It’s all assumptions and speculations. We concentrate only on the way we do things and not other stuff”.
“We don’t really have a preference,” added Roman Sorkin. “We want to beat Fener and not think about the next round.”
Maccabi will face Real Madrid in the playoffs
The Yellows defeated Fenerbahce 85:76 at home and will battle with the Blancos in a best of 5 series. Nunnally led Maccabi with 19 points

Madrid, here we come! Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv finished the Euroleague’s regular season with an 85:76 win over Fenerbahce, a well-deserved victory thanks to James Nunnally’s 19 points. The win also determined that the Israeli champs’ opponent in the playoffs would be Real Madrid.
It was the Yellows’ sixth Euroleague win in a row and one that secured them the fifth place in the table. It also proved again that the sky is the limit this season for Avi Even’s team, which will open the quarterfinal series with an away match in Spain this coming Wednesday.
