Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv secured its fifth consecutive league victory with a 98-87 win over Maccabi Ramat Gan at Zysman Arena, leading throughout the entire game.

This marks the reigning champions’ third win this season over Shmulik Brenner’s team, with a dominant performance by Roman Sorkin paving the way. The Israeli center scored 22 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, with two crucial three-pointers coming at key moments when Ramat Gan seemed poised for a comeback. Rokas Jokubaitis was outstanding, overcoming ankle pain to contribute 18 points, while Tamir Blatt dished out 13 assists. Levi Randolph added 16 for the Maccabees.

Oded Kattash’s squad took advantage of losses by Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem to improve their record to 14-2 and create a small gap at the top of the Israeli Basketball Premier League standings after 16 rounds.  

On Wednesday, the yellow-and-blue will kick off a Spanish double-week, starting in Barcelona and continuing in Vitoria against Baskonia.
