Maccabi goes to 2:2 after a road win over Zalgiris
Maccabi got a second Euroleague win within 48 hours thanks to 18 points by Andrew Goudelock, with Smith adding 17 and Weems 16. Hadar: "we took a step forward defensively"

Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv is well underway to get over its slow Euroleague start. Maccabi got a second win within 48 hours after handling Zalgiris 87:74 in Lithuania. The game was entirely in Maccabi’s control with a smart and diverse offense and also good stints on defense against a strong team coached by Maccabi legend Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Andrew Goudelock led Maccabi with 18 points; Devin Smith scored 17 and Sonny Weems 16. All players managed to do well from the free throw line (20-23 for the entire team) and Maccabi closed a successful week with games against Hapoel Tel Aviv and Barcelona looming ahead.
“We took another step forward”, said Coach Rami Hadar, “the key was improving on defense. We’re still not a defensive team by definition but we stayed focused and maintained the system. I believe that time will benefit us greatly”.
Weems added: “we stressed our defensive play and changed mentality. You have to want to play defense and today we wanted and it showed. We’re still trying to get together and it’ll take time, but i promise we’ll get better”.
I think defensively we stepped up compared to the game before and that was the key. We are still not so defensive; there is a long way to be there, but I think today we were more focused and executed better our system

We wanted to show we can defend, just for ourselves, to keep our honor. But they still grabbed 18 offensive rebounds. We hope to improve from game to game. We're good on offense, showing we can score 90 on average and have a lot of potential, but once we start sealing the paint, we'll be a completely different team
