A fifth win this season over Maccabi Givat Shmuel, 86-68 and 1-0 in the playoff semi final series. Givat Shmuel, without Charles Minlend and Oren Aharoni, had no illusions and Maccabi led 25-14 at the end of the first quarter and 45-34 at half time.
In the third Maccaabi players blacked out and scored only 7 pts to 17 by the visitors and the score got to 52-51. In the fourth we saw an incredible 28-3 run, inspired by Derrick Sharp who scored 4 three pointers which put the champions 80-54 up. Only then they relaxed and won by “only” 18 pts.
MVP was Marcus Goree with 18 pts, 11 rbds, 4 blocked shots & 2 steals. Other scorers: Burstein 16 pts, 7 ass & 4 rbds, Sharp 16, Lewis 14, Vujcic 12 & 5 rbds, Shelef 7, Udrih 3. Top scorers for Givat Shmuel: Avi Kazarnovski 14 pts & 8 rbds & Moshe Brenner 13 pts.
In the other semi final played in Kfar Blum , Galil Elyon took a 1-0 lead in the serried with a 78-56 win over Ironi Nahariya.
