Encouraged by the decisive win over Hapoel Galil Elyon, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will host Fenerbahce on Wednesday (7:30 pm Israel time, 2 pm EST), hoping to clinch a win over one of the strongest teams in Europe and stay in the battle for a playoffs spot.

With a record of 13:13, the Yellows are currently ranked 9th in the Euroleague table, three days before facing a direct competitor for the top 8 in Efes Anadolu. Sentimental moments are expected as Scottie Wilbekin returns to the Menora Mivtachom Arena for the first time since leaving Maccabi at the end of last season.

“This is a very challenging week for us. We would need to play perfectly to beat Fenerbahce, which is an incredible team,” said Oded Kattash in the press conference ahead of the game. “I look at their roster with envy, but we have quality players as well, and we are playing at home, where we have experienced many magical moments this season.”

When asked about the keys to winning, the Yellows’ coach replied: “We need to be more aggressive and focused than we were against Monaco and play better defense. I am confident that our fans will do their part and give us the energy we need.”
