Maccabi Ellite Tel Aviv had an impressive start of the 2006/07 season with a 89-69 in Ljubljana over Union Olimpija. Head coach Neven Spahija opened the game with Nikola Vujcic & four newcomers: Will Bynum, Rodney Buford, Simas Jasaitis & Lior Eliyahu. At the end of the first quarter Maccabi led 26-18, at half time 46-38 and at the end of the third period 67-53. Scorers for Maccabi Bynum 17, Buford & Arnold 15, Vujcic & Halperin 9, :Eliyahu 8, Green 7, Sharp 5, Jasaitis 4. Maccabi’s second game in Slovenia will be played on Wednesday vs Lasko.
