Israel opened their campaign in group b of the Eurobasket qualifiers with an 88-81 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina. The game was played in Sofia as FIBA has refused to allow Israel to play their home games in Tel Aviv. Jamie Arnold, the Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv forward in his first official game in the Israeli colors, scored 21 pts in 53%FG including 3-5 doe three pts, pulled down 6 rbds, dished out 3 asts & made one steal. Dror Hagag scored 18 pts & had 3 asts. Other Maccabi TA players on the team: Yaniv Green 10 pts & 2 bsts, Yotam Halperin 8 pts, 5 rbds, 6 asts & 1 stl, Sharon Shason 4 pts & 1 rebound. Israel’s next game will be played on Sunday in Skopje vs FYR of Macedonia who last night lost 90-108 in Portugal.
