Yesterday’s shooting practice was one thing; but today the players of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv began the process of getting into top shape before the start of the 2011 – 2012 season. Sofo Schortsanitis, Richard Hendrix, Shawn James, and Jordan Farmar took part in the training exercise, as did Alon Stein, Moti Moscowitz, Thomas Sanders, Yariv Amiram, and Idan Zalmanson.
Also present at the exercise were assistant coaches Guy Goodes and Derrick Sharp, and team manager Gur Shelef. The practice was run by fitness coach Avi Kowalski, who made a point of praising the level of fitness of the players. This evening (Sunday) the team will have another basketball practice.

Later on, Kowalski went to the Medix Center for Advanced Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Physiotherapy, where team physiotherapist Rafael Virshuvski works. There, the two ran stress tests on Devin Smith and Theo Papaloukas, both of whom passed with flying colors.
