Euroleague CEO, Jordi Bertomeu, will be the guest of honor in tonight’s game vs Real Madrid. He arrived in Tel Aviv to have a look at the upgrading works at the NOKIA Arena and was impressed: One of our goals is to improve the quality of the arenas in Europe and Maccabi leads the way also in this area”, says Bertomeu. The CEO also says that although Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv have not yet qualified for the Final Four, “the Maccabi fans have already purchased 22% of the tickets sold so far, more than any other country” Bertomeu also related to the claim that not all the top 24 clubs in Europe, take part in the Euroleague: “ We are aware of this but if we pick the top 24 teams, they could come from four or five countries and this is not what we are looking for”.
