There have been many exciting and special moments in Maccabi’s former head coach David Blatt’s career, both in Israel and across the sea, and another one is on the horizon. On October 4, Turkish club Darussafaka, led by Blatt (their newly-signed head coach), will meet Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in a pre-season matchup at Menora Mivtachim Arena.

The game will take place less than two weeks before the start of the Euroleague season, and will be Maccabi’s new head coach Erez Edelstein’s first game leading the yellows.

Note: Admission to the game, which will take place just after the conclusion of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, will be free to season ticket holders. There will be no ticket sales to the general public at this point. Season ticket holders will have a special opportunity to get a good look at the 2016-17 model of Maccabi, which will include Sonny Weems, Maik Zirbes, Quincy Miller, and DJ Seeley in their first game in Maccabi yellow, as well as to enjoy the exciting atmosphere against one of the clubs Maccabi will be facing this season in the Euroleague. And of course, they will get to watch the former Maccabi head coach in action, and to thank him for his outstanding years with the club, including the unforgettable 2014 season, which ended in victories for Maccabi in the Israeli Cup, the Israeli championship, and the Euroleague championship.
