Bluthenthal Returns to Maccabi

David Bluthenthal, who is an Israeli citizen, is returning to Israel for his third stint with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The coming season will be his fourth, overall, with the club.
Bluthenthal, who signed with the Israeli champions for the first time in the summer of 2002 and played with Maccabi for two consecutive seasons, won two Israeli championships and two Israel Cups at that time, not to mention the unforgettable Euroleague championship victory of 2004 in Tel Aviv, where he was one of the outstanding players.

Bluthenthal returned to Maccabi for the 2007/08 season, and again reached the Euroleague finals.
Last season he played for the French team, Le Mans, which won the French Cup.
Bluthenthal’s Euroleague averages last year were 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

Bluthenthal, who is known as the player with a golden hand, first came to Israel in 1997 as the youngest player on the American Maccabiah team.
He played at the University of Southern California for 4 years, and in his European career has played for Dynamo Saint Petersburg, Benetton Treviso, Virtus Bologna, Fortitudo Bologna, and as previously mentioned, France’s Le Mans.
