Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv scored its 16th win in a row, 73-72 in Nahariya.
Maccabi led 17-10 and ended the first quarter 22-19. In the second Maccabi increased its lead to 35-25 and at the half led 41-36. Ironi Nahariya dominated the third quarter and took a 61-58 lead. But Vujcic made sure Maccabi will go into the final period with a 62-61 lead.
MVP Arthur Lee swept the home team to a 70-66 lead. A three pointer by Tal Burstein kept Maccabi in touch. Lee missed two free throws but made amends wit a field foal for a 72-69 lead. Shelef scored under the basket and with 5.9 seconds to go, Burstein sank in two free throws for the victory.
Coach David Blatt admitted: “We stole the game, Nahariya played a great game”.
