Deon Thomas, the US forward/center, will play for Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv in the Premier League & Euroleague. This after the imterior minister has approved Maccabi’s reqest to award Thomas with the Israeli citizenship.
The 32 years old Thomas, who in the past played for Maccabi Rishon Letsion, has been married to the Israeli Daphna for the last five years and they have a son. Thomas took part in Maccabi’s training & preseason games and will make his official debut on Sunday in the first league game of the season vs Hapoel Galil Elyon (Nokia Arena, 20:00).
