Derrick Sharp has been nominated as the new captain of Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv.
Sharp, in his tenth season, is the longest serving player on the team. He has won three Euroleague titles (2001, 2004 & 2005), played in two more Final Fours (2000 & 2002) and in t5he Final of the 2003 Adriatic League.
The new captain has also won 9 Israeli League titles and 8 Israeli Cups.
