Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s upcoming game at Nokia Arena against Hapoel Gilboa/Galil will be the first to be made accessible to the hearing impaired by means of special audio headphones, so that they may enjoy the broadcast and commentating of Kami Baratz and Doron Jamchy, on the Kol Yisrael Reshet Bet radio station.
The goal is to raise awareness of hearing loss (over 800,000 people in Israel have hearing loss; 1 in 3 people over the age of 65, and 1 in 6 people of working age), which impacts all aspects of life. Maccabi’s message is to let people with hearing loss know that they are not alone, and that there are possible solutions that can improve their quality of life.
