In the midst of the tough and challenging period, Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv finally showed the first signs of recuperating. The yellows faced Hapoel Jerusalem, survived a super tight game, and got an 83:78 win in the capital.

It was Maccabi’s third win over the Reds this season and one that was secured after some nerve-wracking moments. The lead changed hands many times to set a thrilling fourth quarter.

Jalen Reynolds, James Nunnally, and Kameron Taylor were left out of the roster, but their absence was less significant in an evening where Derrick Williams (17 points) and John DiBartolomeo (14 points) carried Maccabi. Jake Cohen deserves praises, too, as he sealed the win with crucial free throws he made.

Maccabi will not have too much time to rest. On Monday, the Israeli champs will face Bney Herzeliya away, and three days later, meet Baskonia Vitoria at Menora Mivtachim Arena.
