The Yellows achieved their fourth Euroleague win in a row. Baldwin (23 points) and Brown (18) led the way. Next week: Bologna and Milano arrive in Tel Aviv
Yesterday, Oded Kattash predicted that Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv would have a hard time against Villeurbanne. He was right. The Yellows did achieve an important win today in France, 85-67, but the result only tells part of the story as Maccabi struggled before producing a decisive run in the fourth quarter, putting the game away.
The hosts, who have lost eight in a row, played without pressure and stayed close to the Yellows for three quarters. At that point, Wade Baldwin (23 points) and Lorenzo Brown (18) took matters into their own hands and pushed Maccabi to an explosive finish.
It was the fourth Euroleague win in a row for Oded Kattash’s players, which puts them very close to securing a playoff ticket. Next week will be critical, as Maccabi will host Bologna and Milano within 48 hours, hoping to feed off the incredible momentum.
