Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s impressive run of nine consecutive wins in Winner’s League came to an end today with a surprising 83:94 home defeat to Hapoel Galil Elyon. Despite missing key players like Lorenzo Brown, Josh Nebo, and Wade Baldwin, Maccabi managed to build a double-digit lead. However, the visitors caught up and handed Oded Kattash’s players their fourth loss in the league this season.

Despite the loss and Bonzie Colson’s injury, which forced him to leave the court in the fourth quarter, there was a bright spot in Alex Poythress’s return to play after being out for four months due to injury. The Yellow’s big man scored 13 points and will provide Oded Kattash with more firepower in the upcoming challenges that await them.

Maccabi is still ranked first in the table and will face Ironi Ness Ziona away on Thursday in its last game before the Euroleague quarter-finals series against Monaco.
