Without injured Lorenzo Brown, the Yellows fell to their city rivals 95:96. Wade Baldwin’s 29 weren’t enough to secure a third victory this season against the Reds
It could have ended differently when Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv had the last possession of the game in the third city derby that was held this evening (Sunday) at Heichal Shlomo. But a yellow turnover 0.7 seconds before the final buzzer determined the final score – 96:95 to Hapoel Tel Aviv over Oded Kattash’s team.
As always, it was a tough battle against the city rivals, but a victory was still within reach, thanks to an outstanding performance from Wade Baldwin. The Yellows’ guard did just about everything and scored 29 points (accompanied by Jalen Adams’s 20) to push the visitors as far as he could. Win or lose, he is, without a doubt, a reason for optimism for the future.
As painful as this loss is, the focus shifts immediately to Friday. Maccabi will visit Greece to play Olympiacos, hoping to get a lucrative away win against a European powerhouse. Yalla Maccabi!
