The wait is now over. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv was on a quest to find a first away win in the Euroleague for almost two months. Tonight (Tuesday), after many heartaches and disappointments, the Yellows finally found it. A 77:71 tough victory against Olimpia Milano improved Maccabi’s record to 7:6 and spurred positive momentum ahead of the clash with Virtus Bologna on Friday.
In a game that at times felt more like a battle of will than a basketball contest, Oded Kattash’s players didn’t have it easy. The Yellows found themselves trailing in double digits before coming back in the second half to force a tight last quarter.
Lorenzo Brown (20 points, 8 assists) and Roman Sorkin (14 points) were there to push Maccabi over the finish line and clinch a very important win. The Yellows will now hope to feed off this victory and celebrate also in Bologna On Friday.
