Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv set up a derby in the Winner Cup semi finals, after beating Ironi Kiryat Ata 95:71 On Tuesday. The yellows will face their city rivals on Thursday night in a battle for a spot in Sunday’s final, where the season’s first trophy will be hoisted.

The Israeli champs ran for a 16-point lead in the first half, but struggled with many players in foul trouble. That helped the northern team erase the deficit all the way to a 40:40 scoreline early in the third quarter.

At this stage, the Maccabees pulled away again, this time for goof, thanks to big plays by Bonzie Colson, John DiBartolomeo and Antonius Cleveland. Josh Nebo led six players in double figures with 16 points to go along with 7 boards; Colson added 14 and John-D finished with 13.

The game also saw young guard Omer Mayer, who will 17-years-old next month, get his first official game time as a first team player. Mayer scored consecutive threes in the final quarter to finish with 6 points.
