Improved defense. That was the main theme in Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s recent games, and today (Monday) was no different. Three days before clashing with Alba Berlin, the Yellows defeated Gilboa/Galil away in a game in which an impressive defensive effort covered up for a relatively weak shooting day.
Although Oded Kattash’s players’ percentages were low during the game, they kept the Northerns on 28 points throughout the first half and stole the ball 14 times. This laid the ground for a yellow run in the second half that determined the end result.
Maccabi’s main man was Josh Nebo who scored 15 and delivered a personal highlight reel of spectacular dunks. Yiftach Ziv also looked great and helped keep the Yellows with a perfect away record on the domestic front.
