Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv suffered a third straight EuroLeague loss on Thursday, a 91-105 defeat to Anadolu Efes on the road. As the score suggests, it was an uptempo game dominated by both offenses, but after 35 tight minutes, the Turks pulled away.
It was Maccabi’s first ever game in Latvia, as safety concerns forced Anadolu to relocate to Arena Riga. Yet it was not a game to remember, as Lorenzo Brown’s absence due to back pain was felt. Wade Baldwin was his usual self with 26 points, but no other player had more than 12 for the Israeli champs.
Maccabi will now switch gears ahead of a challenging Israeli league week, starting with a Tel Aviv Derby in Yad Eliyahu on Sunday. The yellows will then face Maccabi Ramat Gan on Tuesday before a trip to Jerusalem awaits on Friday/
