The first title of the season is yellow! Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv didn’t have it easy in Winner’s cup final, but toped Hapoel Tel Aviv 88:84 after a tough battle in another thrilling city derby, and lifted the trophy for the third time in a row.

Maccabi was dominant and led almost throughout the whole game, backed by an MVP performance from Alex Poythress (24 points and eight rebounds). The Reds came back in the last quarter and forced an overtime, but Lorenzo Brown (20 points and nine rebounds) kept his and the team’s composure and made sure the cup will land in Maccabi’s trophy cabinet.

The celebrations wil continue tonight, but on Thursday, the Yellows will return to Euroleague action when they host Panthinaikos at Menora Mivtachim Arena.
