Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv began the 2022/23 season in Winner’s League with a 95:87 win over Ironi Ness Ziona. In a game in which they already led by 18 points but weren’t consistent enough, Oded Kattash’s players can now rest and prepare for a tight schedule that includes 4 games in 9 days.
Similar to what happened in Winner’s Cup against Hapoel Holon, Maccabi looked good offensively but paid for a defensive game that is still uncoordinated with many fouls and turnovers. Yet, with 26 assists and rebound domination, the win was achieved.
Jarell Martin led Maccabi with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Roman Sorkin added 21 points and 3 blocks.
