In a hard fought game Maccabi Tel Aviv prevailed 96-94 against Hapoel Gilboa/Afula on Israeli league week 9. Afula led 51-49 at half time and Maccabi came out strong at the second half, but Afula didn’t give up. Orland shot a three pointer 11 seconds to go to make it 94-94. Captain Derick Sharp sank both free throws, 96-94 to Maccabi. Vujcic stole the last ball and Maccabi kept its perfect record in the domestic league, 9-0. Vujcic led with 23 points, Bynum that didn’t play last game because of flu added 19 and Eliyahu scored 18.
