After defeating Fenerbahce at home, the Yellows will try to finish the week with a win over the Euroleague champions. Kattash: “at this point, every game is crucial”
“We have reached the final stretch in the Euroleague where every game is crucial, regardless of our opponent, specific matchups, and on paper favorite,” said Maccabi’s coach, Oded Kattash. “When a team has as much talent as Efes, they can play with a simpler style and still be tough to stop.”
“We still remember our game against them in Tel Aviv”, he then added. “We did an excellent job with an incredible fourth quarter, but we need to do better than that on the road.”
When asked about the potential absences of players on the Efes team, Kattash emphasized the importance of preparing for every scenario. “We can’t be sure who will play and who will not. But similarly to Fener, Efes has enough quality on its roster to pose a threat.”
Maccabi’s forward, Jarell Martin, echoed Kattash’s sentiment about the Yellows’ need to bring their best game. “We showed a lot of character and fought hard in our game against Fener,” he said. “If we bring that same spirit to the game on Friday, Efes won’t be able to beat us. The key is heart – we must want it more than they do.”
