Ironi Strauss Nahariya players scored 35 points in the final period to inflict Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv their first loss of the season, 92-96 in Nahariya.
The hosts shot 13-23 for three points (57%) and pulled down 9 offensive rbds. They also exploited a poor game of their back court players Jasikevicius, Parker & Burstein. Only Baston (24 pts in 100% FG & FT and 10 rbds) & Vujcic (25 pts, 7 rbds), played at their best.
Maccabi led 23-18 at the end of the first period and increased it to 31-21. But at half time the lead was only four (49-45). In the third Maccabi opened a 69-56 lead. But Nahariya opened the final period with a 13-07 run and took the lead for the first time 78-77. Five consecutive points by the brilliant Sharon Dsasson made it 94-87 for Nahariya and Maccabi could only reduce the deficit in the end.
