Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv will compete on Sunday (17:55, Sport5) against Hapoel Eilat in the Round Of 16 of the State Cup. Both teams met last season in a knockout match, Winner League Semi-Finals, where the Yellow & Blue came out on top on their way to winning the title. Quincy Acy and Elijah Bryant weren’t registered to this game as they will get to rest.

The teams faced one another in the second fixture of the Winner League, as Maccabi beat Hapoel Eilat at home 102:86. Othello Hunter led the Yellow & Blue with 20 points, Bryant scored 17 against his ex-club. On the other end, Kyvon Davenport finished the night with 21 points, and Avi Ben Shimol had a great game with 19 points and 8 assists.

Maccabi is the second-best defensive team in the league allowing 71.6 points per game, Eilat allows 10 more points a night. The Yellow & Blue lead the league in points scored (89.8), performance index rating (111.0), assists (22.2), and in percentages for 2 & 3 points.

Jake Cohen spoke about the matchup against Eilat: “I don’t look at who we will face in a week or two, we now have the game against Eilat, and it is an important game for us. We haven’t won the Cup since I got back to Maccabi and I really want to bring it back, so now it’s the time. We have a great locker room, and we will try to keep it going”.
