The yellows will face the reds on the road for the third derby of the season. Coach Sfairopoulos: “It’s a tough game and we need to be concentrated”
“The derby is always a derby”, said Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos ahead of the derby. “it’s always important for us and for them, it’s a tough game and we need to be concentrated, we play in front of their fans so we need to stay focused and follow our plan, we know we lost the previous game to them so we need to play better than the previous game, to execute better offensively and defensively and we know them, they know us so we need to do our job.
“I’m really excited”, said Jake Cohen. “We have games once a week now, I look forward to it way more, we got a lot more time to think about it, and the fact that it’s a derby is great and it’s going to a lot of fun and it’s a game that we really want to win. We’ve come a long way since the game then (i.e. the previous derby), we learned a lot about playing in the Israeli league and that experience is very valuable for us. I think we’re playing better right now even though we started real rough against Rishon last week, we fought back and it shows a lot about our team. We’re in good shape right now and we need to keep it going because we know how much Hapoel wants to win as well, our motivation is to win the game for ourselves we want first place, we want home court advantage – all that good stuff. I’m not concerned how it affects Hapoel”.
