Guy Goodes joins Maccabi’s coaching stuff

Nine years after leaving Maccabi as a player, the ex point guard is back.
Won seven championships with the team.

The 35 years old Goodes left Maccabi in 1999 after an eight years career as a player in two spells. He arrived from Hapoel Haifa in 1990 and played until 1997. During that period he suffered two very bad injuries which kept him out of the game for long spells. In the 1997/8 season he played in the Italian League with Caserta and then returned to Maccabi for one more season, All together he won with Maccabi 7 championships and three national cups. He played in the European Final Four in Paris in 1991.Played for the National Team from 1991 to 1999. In the 1999/00 he played in the ACB leagues in Spain with Cantabria and the following season with Rosetto in Italy. Lated played for Maccabi Raanana, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Rishon Letsion. In the 2004/05 season he became assistant coach in Rishon Letsion and in mid season replaced head coch Hanokh Mintz. Last season he led Maccabi Rishon to third place in the Super League. Goodes is also the assistant coach to Jakob Gino in the u.20 national team.
