A 13-0 run towards the end of the third quarter and the start of the final period, assured Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv of their 16th Premier League win of the season, 75-63 over Hapoel in the Tel Aviv derby.
Two players were behind this run: captain Gur Shelef and 19 years old Yotam Halperin. From 50-52 sown, Maccabi took a 53-52 lead & increased it to 70-55. This after Hapoel led 18-13 at the end of the first quarter. Maccabi won the second 19-8 and at half time led 32-26. They increased the margin to 42-32 but then saw Bulatovic & Hapoel go on a 12-0 run to take a 46-44 lead. Then Halperin & Shelef took over.
In 24 minutes play Halperin had very impressive figures: 13 pts ub 71% FG, 8 rbds, 2 ass & 1 stl.
