Erez Edelastein ran his first practice as head coach of Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv and shared his thoughts: “It’s time to work hard and focus on actions. Our goal is to become a unit”

Erez Edelstein’s tenure as head coach of Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv is officially underway. The 55 year old coach ran his first practice and observed his new players in action. Next month, Edelstein will manage his first game, but until then, he knows he has his work cut out for him.
“We still have to complete the roster, that’s the first order of business”, said Edelstein, “the new guys are just getting used to the environment, the food, the weather, the club and everything. We have to remember that talking won’t get us anywhere. It’s time to focus on actions and hard work. Maccabi is a club with a lot of pride, and as such, the goal is to go back all the way to the top, but words won’t get us there”.
“My job is to take the players and fuse them into a unit. Which system am I going to use to do that? We’ll have to wait and see. We’ll focus on movement, on pick and rolls. I know players have their habits and that’s fine but we aim to get everyone in line with each other. I know expectations are high and that’s good. This is a special season”.
