Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv faced Hapoel Gilboa Galil in the 28th game day of the Israeli domestic league. The yellows went off to a great defensive first half outscoring Gilboa-Galil 43:31. The visitors made a comeback attempt and got within a possession away of a tie but the yellows reacted with a knockout blow to secure the 88:70 home win improving their domestic record to 22:6.

“You can say that i was impressed”, said coach Giannis Sfairopoulos. “I’m not happy with the third period, we didn’t start it good and we allowed easy points. They took a lot of offensive rebounds and had transition offense. We allowed them to score between 13-16 points each quarter which is a good number for our defense. In terms of effectiveness we weren’t bad, it wasn’t a great game but it wasn’t bad”.

“It was a team effort”, said Jeremy Pargo. “We put the pressure on defense and it helped us score. We’re enjoying right now. What worked? We played tough, in the fourth quarter we were able to step it up and do what we do. If you want to win you have maintain a high intensity”.
