Maccabi’s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the away win over Khimki: “Good defense was the key, especially on Shved. Johnny O’Bryant: “The second unit came in, got the momentum and then we kept going”
“Good defense was the key, especially on Shved”, said coach Giannis Sfairopoulos after the 71:76 away win over Khimki. “He scored 17 points but with low percentages. For sure both teams had chances to finish the game earlier, but
finally at the end we had clear minds and good decisions, we also got two offensive rebounds at the end which was important, and I think we deserved to win”.“It was a tough win, Khimki is a great team at home”, said the game MVP Johnny O’Bryant who had 16P and 11R. “We started slow but kept going and got back in it. The second unit came in, got the momentum and then we kept going”.
“It was one we needed, absolutely, especially after the last two losses”, said Michael Roll who delivered an all-around performance of 17P, 4R & 3A. “We came out to fight through it and play with energy. It’s a big one. Our second unit came in and really sparked us. We started slow but they came out and got a couple of steals and easy buckets in transition, and that got us going”.
