Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s naturalized Israeli forward Jake Cohen landed in Israel on Saturday: “I didn’t expect this kind of welcome, it’s amazing. I’m really excited to be here and want to do all I can to help the team.”

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s newly-acquired Jewish-American forward, Jake Cohen landed in Israel on Saturday to a rousing welcome from dozens of fans and from the new team manager, Nikola Vujčić. “I’m not used to this kind of welcome,” said Cohen. “It’s very impressive. If my journey here continues the way it got started, I know I’ll have a great time. I didn’t expect this. From a professional standpoint, let’s wait for the preseason training camps. I’m really excited to be here and want to do all I can to help the team.”
“The tournament in Las Vegas was a wonderful experience for me, to play against NBA players. It helped me get used to the intensity and the practices. I’m going to try and do my best with Maccabi and we’ll see where it develops. Coach Blatt talked to me and told me to work hard, and that’s what I’m going to do. He said he’s excited that I’m part of the team and that’s how I feel, too. I think I made a good choice, coming to Maccabi.”
