Newly-crowned Euroleague Champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv celebrated their achievement with tens of thousands of fans at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv.

The celebrations of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s 2014 Euroleague Championship reached their peak at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv the night after the big game, as tens of thousands of fans sang and cheered while, one by one, the players, coaches, staff and management of the team took the stage in front of Tel Aviv City Hall.
“I never even imagined that it would be like this,” said Alex Tyus. “It’s been a difficult season, but I always believed myself and the moment I got the chance, I proved myself. There’s no better feeling than to win it all. We were all in shock. As far as the future, it would be hard to go somewhere else after all this love. I think we should aspire to winning another one, so we have something to look forward to.”
Team captain Guy Pnini said, “It’s hard to put into words what I’m feeling right now. When I got here [to Rabin Square] I started to realize just how huge our accomplishment is. The whole country is going nuts, roads are closed… We deserve it, and the credit goes to the professional staff, who told us every single thing Real Madrid was going to do in the Final. Their investment of time and effort, and their diligence, are what brought us to this achievement.”
