One of the world’s leading rappers, Curtis James Jackson III (aka 50 Cent) arrived in Israel Friday as part of a multi-nation tour to promote the headphones made by his company, SMS Audio. While here, 50 met with the players of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv at a special event in the VIP Lounge at Nokia Arena. He presented team captain Shawn James with a sample of the special Maccabi-branded earphones that will be given to the team in the coming months.

During the press conference, the rapper said, “I was here in 2006 to perform, and it’s great to be back and be able to walk around and meet the people. I always want the best, so a partnership with the best team was an obvious choice. The players work very hard, and sometimes they need to relax with some music. I’m happy that it’s my music.”

Paul Galland, Commercial Manager for Benda, the Israeli distributer for SMS Audio and the company responsible for bringing 50 Cent to Israel, said: “There have been a lot of attempts to bring 50 Cent to Israel in the past, and we are happy to have him here. He himself was very excited about coming and meeting the Israeli audience. In recent months his brand has become an unprecedented global success, and also here in Israel, and 50 feels the need to go out and meet the people of the various countries.”
