Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv held a shooting practice on Thursday morning at the Hadar Yosef gym as the four foreign players took the court for the first time. The season officially opens on Sunday.

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s preparations for the 2013-14 season are gaining momentum, with the team holding a shooting practice Thursday morning at the Hadar Yosef gym. Taking part were Shawn James, Devin Smith, Sofo Schortsanitis, Joe Ingles and Jake Cohen along with team manager Nikola Vujčić and two graduates of the club’s youth department.
With the Tel Aviv derby in the Winner League Cup already set and the Euroleague opener (away against Laboral Kutxa Vitoria) noted on the calendar, all that remains is to learn where and against whom Maccabi will kick off the Winner Sal League season. Luckily, the wait is nearly over, as the drawing will be held tomorrow (Friday, 30 August) at 12:30 at Kibbutz Ga’ash. On Sunday, Maccabi will hold its first official practice of the season, though without those players who are participating in the FIBA EuroBasket Championship.
